“I’m just not good at selling."
“I hate the sales part.”
“I’m just not a salesperson.”
You’re running your own business, and you’re confident about the work you do.
But when it comes to selling, it just feels… different. Uncomfortable. A little salesy.
Sure, you can do it. But you’re just not sure you’re doing it right.
And who could blame you? You’ve never been in sales.
You know you're not getting paid as much as you should.
Maybe you’ve lost a few clients who you swore would come through.
And you hate that feeling of not knowing if a new client will say yes or no.
You know you should be better at signing new clients. But it’s not just about clients, is it?
It’s about not being worried about money all the time.
It’s about being able to provide for yourself and your family.
It’s about having the freedom to spend time with friends and family, and not have to constantly be worried about work.
It’s about not being stressed all the time.
It’s about knowing you CAN run a successful business.
And it’s about knowing you won’t have to go back to an office job.
For someone as confident as you are about your work, it seems crazy to have this gaping hole in your skill set, where confidence is replaced with doubt.
I know because that was me too, when I started my first consulting business.
When I first started out, I didn’t know anything about how to sell, even though I had been in marketing for my entire career.
I was uncomfortable. I dreaded every sales conversation.
And to make it worse, I was embarrassed that I was struggling.
But as soon as I started my first business I quickly found out that businesses, especially consulting businesses like mine, live or die on their ability to bring on new clients.
And that’s when I got scared.
If I couldn’t figure out how to sell to new clients, I was going to have to do what every business owner fears the most: go back and get an office job.
Then I hit my lowest point.
A few months into my first consulting business, I got so scared that I actually did go back and get an office job. And you know what? I hated it.
I looked around and saw all the inefficiency, the office politics... and I hated my commute.
But I really just missed the freedom to go running in the middle of the day, or go to the grocery store when it’s not packed.
So I made a decision.
I left that job, I recommitted to the business and, most importantly, towards teaching myself how to sell.
Over the next few years I taught myself everything I possibly could. I read everything I could get my hands on about selling, and I tried nearly every sales strategy and approach.
It’s not salesy. There’s nothing tricky or deceitful. It’s straightforward and honest.
It’s based on building the relationship, and based on the tremendous value I bring my clients.
It doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable or awkward. In fact, it feels natural, and I love it because I get to be myself.
It’s how I sold nearly $400,000 in web design services for my marketing consulting firm.
It’s how I sold nearly $200,000 in sponsorships for a first-time conference that no one had ever heard of, for an organization I co-founded less than a year before.
It’s how I’ve sold $300,000 (and counting) in coaching and consulting services, with a 92% win rate.
It’s how I set a goal of new coaching clients I wanted this year, and I reached 40% of my annual goal in the first month.
And it’s how I've helped my clients double their sales.
From the first lesson, this program completely blew my mind. I originally signed up because I wanted to be more confident around selling to potential clients. But I ended up totally re-tooling my services and packages, and now I’m positioned to earn even more than I could when I started. The program isn’t just about how to sell - it’s about how to really grow your business.
The lessons and exercises were great, but what really made the program special was being able to meet with Leah one-on-one when I got stuck. Being able to talk through my questions helped me get past what was holding me back, and now I’m so excited to move ahead with building my business.

I can’t say enough how grateful I am for this course! The lessons were fantastic and the way the class flowed really took you step by step through the process.
But I think the best part about the course was that it took each step from theory to practice. Every single one of the classes had something tangible that I could use to get started quickly. For someone like me who has a hard time moving from the thinking to the starting, the course made that so much easier. It got me into action much faster than I would have otherwise.

Definitely not. I actually can’t stand some salespeople because they’re, well, salesy. Originally I thought I had to be that way too, but I’ve been successful because I learned to sell in a way that feels natural, comfortable, and lets me be myself. That’s what I teach my clients, and that’s what you’ll learn in the program. You’ll still be yourself… just with more clients and more money.
Absolutely. I’m an introvert too! (Meyers Briggs: INTJ). You don’t have to be an outgoing, heyhowyadoing, glad-handing extrovert to be successful bringing on new clients. And actually, studies show that introverts can even be more successful than extroverts when it comes to sales. This program will teach you the skills you’ll need to consistently and confidently sign new clients, and you’ll learn how to do them your way: with your natural style and vibe.
You totally could! But not like this. You could read tons of sales books written by salespeople, and test them out in your business over several years like I did. Or you could take one of the many programs out there created by lifelong salespeople, to teach you how to sell like they did.SIGNED is the only program created by an entrepreneur, for other entrepreneurs, using what I’ve learned through years of growing my own businesses. Running your own business is an entirely different beast than being a salesperson for a company, and we’ll address those nuances and challenges together. Everything I’ve learned about sales through running my own businesses, goes into everything I’ll share with you.
That’s a great question! First and foremost, this program is an investment in you: in helping you overcome what’s holding you back in selling, and building skills and confidence you can use for the life of your business, and your lifetime. From a numbers perspective, when most participants sign a new client, they’re generating anywhere from $5,000 - $100,000+. If this is you, then if you sign just ONE new client, the program has more than paid for itself.
I hear you - it’s hard to decide where to focus your energy, especially when there’s so much you’re “supposed to do”. A blog, newsletter, or social media are important, but for most solopreneurs who want to sign new clients, they don't solve the real problem. For example, what’s the benefit of getting a ton of new newsletter subscribers, if you still feel weird having sales conversations, or if you’re just not signing the potential clients that come your way?Learning how to position your business, have great sales conversations, and move each opportunity from first contact to close - these will serve your business today, and long term. And, bonus! The skills you learn in SIGNED can actually increase the effectiveness of each of other marketing channels, because you’ll know how to move these leads from first contact to close.
Absolutely. We’ll cover some of the tracking and technical parts of the sales process, but everything we cover can be done successfully without a CRM. Of course, if you have one already, then by all means use it during the program! Doing so will help you get more out of your current system.
Totally! I’m not going to leave you hanging. Throughout the program you’ll join me and the other entrepreneurs in the SIGNED Facebook group where I’ll be chiming in to your questions, doing live coaching calls, and helping you sign the clients you're currently pursuing.
Yes! You can pay in a single payment of $2,500 or three monthly payments of $999.
I promise that if you make this decision to invest in yourself, you will benefit from it for the life of your business. But I want to make this a completely risk-free decision for you. If after 14 days you haven't gotten any value from the program whatsoever, simply return your completed worksheets from Module 1 to customer service, and I'll provide a full refund.
I should have taken this course on day one when I started my business! Selling and the sales process were never my strong suit. And there are so many terms I had heard of, and things I should be doing, but no one really tells you HOW to do them.
For example, I had heard about value-based fees and pricing, but everyone just tells you to do it and no one tells you how. Same thing with, “Be authentic.” How can you be authentic, when selling feels so unnatural? Leah shows you step by step how to do it. This course really teaches you not only what it means to sell, but shows you the steps to actually put it into practice for your business.
- Ariana Smetana, Founder, Art Via
After being in business for a year and learning how to "sell" based largely on my personal instincts and observations, I wanted to get a little more focused and tactical in my skill building. I found that there seemed to be a lot of "get rich quick" and "do this one thing and you'll be a selling goddess" kind of courses out there. I don't personally believe in silver bullets and magical catch all cures, and so I was looking for a learning experience that had some gravitas, a philosophy, framework, research, strategies - real tools with real rationale that I could apply to my business.
When I came upon SIGNED, the course fit the bill. Leah taught about sales the way I imagined it to be at it's best - something that has an overarching framework to it, some essential components, some key tools...that lead to "magical" results when implemented consistently and in context. I walked away from SIGNED with a greater understanding of how to organize myself and my business on the back end so that I could go out and confidently connect my work to client needs, then shepherd them through the often confusing sales process with ease and efficiency.
I'm already seeing results in myself and in my business in the caliber of people I'm able to sign, the frequency and the price point at which I'm able to sign them. I would highly recommend this course to people who want to understand how sales really works and who are willing to take practical tools, marry them with hard work and consistency to get results.
- Alice Chen, Founder, Wayfinding Wisdom
We can't thank Leah enough and can't stress enough how valuable she is. If you're in business for yourself or thinking about it, let Leah be your secret weapon. She is a savvy entrepreneur, sales maven, and tough-but-tender business coach who provided us with the necessary guidance and infrastructure to get us out of Post-it note hell....and gave us much more. She helped us stay organized and strategic, brainstormed with us, kept us on target, and challenged our thinking when we needed to consider different approaches. In additional to helping us with numerous business issues, we must also mention that we really like her. You will, too.
- Arlene Wanetick & Wilma Nachsin, Co-Founders and Career Coaches, LifeWorking
Working with Leah has been a game-changer. I've had CRM's before, but working with Leah I know that it's set up in the best possible way to support and empower our business, and ensure that we'll continue to use it - actually staying connected with people and closing deals. We couldn't have done it without her deep understanding of the sales process, her help thinking through how to move opportunities forward, and her ability to mold the CRM so we can use it as the engine to grow our business. In the early stages of a new business it can be hard to make the decision to invest in systems, but getting Leah's help is some of the best money we've spent so far and it was worth every penny.
- Kathryn Poindexter, Founder, Campaign Greenhouse

Leah really helped me look at the sales process in a whole new way. It opened my eyes and made me think about people I have completely forgotten about. Once I followed her advice, those people turned into new clients. The whole program was super fun and easy. Thank you Leah for everything!
- Maja Galic, President, Clearmint Creative
Working with Leah has been the shot of energy and clarity I needed to focus our development strategies and systems. She helped me identify and strategize certain partner opportunities; moreover, the guidance and tools that Leah provides have allowed me to approach partners in a totally different way. She is insightful, enthusiastic, and believes in me and what my organization can accomplish. She's also just fun to work with! Thanks Leah!
- Allison Friedman, Founder, Ping Pong Productions
Leah's coaching elevated our fundraising to a whole new level. She brought a sales mindset to our fundraising, and helped me approach partners in a thoughtful, direct way that delivered strong results. She's a master at identifying gaps in process and solutions to fill those gaps. She asked the right questions at the right times and brought a level of strategy to our work that was much needed.

I help entrepreneurs and business owners learn the secrets of confident consultative selling, so they can grow their revenue, bring on amazing clients, and build incredible businesses.
I didn't learn to sell by being a commissioned salesperson. I learned by building my own businesses. I taught myself everything I could about selling, and overcame the natural "selling shyness" most entrepreneurs have, to find the confidence to really go out and sell to new clients. The outcome is a comfortable selling approach that doesn't feel salesy -- and gets results.
Now I share the secrets I learned along the way, helping entrepreneurs set up their sales operations, grow their client pipeline, and confidently guide prospects from first contact to a successful close.
Before starting Growthworks Solutions, I built, grew and sold three businesses. Most recently I co-founded Lesbians Who Tech, a global organization to foster more LGBT women in technology; and I co-founded Lean Impact, where I helped nonprofits use Lean Startup principles to increase their impact and run their businesses more efficiently. I started my first business, a cycling-focused website, in 2008.
When I'm not coaching clients, I'm riding my road bike with wife, or playing with my puppy.
